Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer system
A payment system composed of one real-time gross settlement (RTGS) system in each of the EU Member States plus the ECB payment mechanism (EPM). The national RTGS systems and the EPM are interconnected by common procedures (interlinking) to allow cross-border transfers throughout the European Union to move from one system to another.
